What you need to determine, before purchasing
any motorcycle alarm, is which functions and features are really
important to you. Always remember, an alarm system is not of much
help if you do not physically secure the bike with good locks. Of the 3 brands we offer, Gorilla 8007 & 8017 Motorcycle Alarm (replacing 7007 & 7017) are definitely the easiest to install. It is a real do-it-yourself package and delivers a lot of bang for your buck. It has everything a good alarm system should have, including a 2 way pager to control the alarm from a distance and actually see on the display what is going on. The only main feature Gorilla does not have is a ignition cut-off system. This would require splicing into the bike's wiring system and would complicate the install a great deal. Gorilla Alarm is a 20 minute install deal. Connect to the battery, install the tilt sensor and antenna ... that's it.. Armed Guard take a very different approach with a G-Force lock (gravity sensor), perimeter control and, for many bikes, bike specific wiring harness. Our GL1800 Goldwing model is the best seller. Cyclone Alarms are packed with features in a tiny package. A new cell-phone based paging system is on the way for 2010. |
