PLEASE READ THE MOUNTING PROCEDURE ENTIRELY BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH YOUR INSTALLATION. ECLIPSE ASSUMES NO LIABILITY FOR THE IMPROPER MOUNTING OR USE OF THIS PRODUCT

Before mounting, locate the following:

  • Neoprene pad
  • Rubber retaining strap
  • Front harness strap with two buckles
  • Rear harness strap with buckle

Assembly Instructions

1.

With the tankbag upside down on a convenient working surface, place the neoprene pad over the bag, rubber side out (fabric side against the bag).

2. Align the three tabs on the pad with the receiving half of the buckles on the tankbag. Note that each tab has two cut-outs.
3.

One at a time, pass each receiving buckle up through the inside cut-out, then down through the remaining slot. (See Fig. B). This step requires stretching the neoprene slightly. Do so carefully, by hand, to avoid damaging the pad.

4.

Pull the buckles completely through the pad, leaving only the webbing in the cut-outs.

Please Note: Always keep the rubber surface of the neoprene pad clean to help prevent damage to your tank's finish. We suggest several liberal coats of wax on the tank as additional surface protection.

Mounting Instructions

1.

Thread one front harness buckle through the cut-outs of the rubber retaining strap. Pull the buckle completely through the cut-outs.

2.

Standing beside your bike, place the rubber retaining strap across the top of the fuel tank, near the front.

3.

Bring the loose end of the harness strap, with buckle, around the down tubes of the frame just under the steering head and up the other side. (See Fig. C). Be sure the harness strap doesn't interfere with the steering of the motorcycle or with the operation of cables, wires, etc.

4.

Thread the second front harness buckle through the other end of the rubber retaining strap. (See Fig. D). The front harness is now completely assembled. Do not adjust the straps until the tankbag is in place.

5.

Open or remove the seat for access to the frame tube(s) behind the tank. Remove the buckle from the rear harness strap.

6. Thread one end of the rear harness strap around the frame tube(s) and bring both strap ends together, centered above the frame. (See Fig. E). Place one strap end on top of the other, holding both ends in one hand.
7.

Pick up the buckle and note the serrated edges on the inner and outer rungs of the buckle. With the prongs pointing toward the front of the motorcycle, flip the buckle until the serrated edge of the inner rung is on top. (See Fig. F).

8.

Pass the webbing ends up through the buckle in front of the inner rung, then down through the outer slot. For now, only pull 2-3 inches of webbing through the buckle. If threaded properly, you should be able to pull straight up on the buckle with no slippage. Yet, tilt the buckle forward 90° and it adjusts easily. (See Fig. G).

9.

Be sure the neoprene pad is free of dirt or other abrasives, then set the bag on your tank. Check that the tankbag is centered from side to side.

10.

Snap both front harness buckles to the tankbag. (See Fig. H). Evenly tighten each side of this harness until the straps are taut. (Adjustment is easier if you pull each loose webbing end out of the metal slider and rubber retainer strap.)

11.

Attach the rear buckle to the bag and pull down on both webbing ends until this strap is taut. (See Fig. I).

12.

The tankbag is now secure. Excess webbing may be removed by cutting the strap ends with a hot knife. Leave at least 2 inches.

13.

To remove the bag, simply squeeze the sides of each buckle. The harness kit is designed to remain on the motorcycle.

14.

To refuel, disconnect both front harness buckles and flip the bag on end.

PLEASE NOTE: To prolong the useful life of your vinyl map window, please avoid using it in very cold temperatures. It's also a good idea to remove it when parking your motorcycle in direct sunlight
