ABUS 8000 Detecto versus Xena Locks

With a wide range of Alarmed locks and constant innovation, Xena is and remains the world leader in Alarmed Motorcycle Disc locks, Bullett Alarm Padlocks, U-locks, trailer locks and Zone Alarm security.

However, a new player has arrived with the new ABUS 8000 Detecto. It is a fantastic and massively (it holds a middle between the XN15 and XN18 Xena) strong lock made to usual ABUS Germany high standards. At $149.95 it also is priced higher than XN15 but substantially lower than XN18.

After reviewing the new ABUS 8000 Detecto lock, here's LockItt.com's comparison¹ between ABUS and Xena:

ABUS 8000 Detecto features a strong all stainless massive lock size, ABUS X-Plus key system with manual cover, a very long reach (will fit more brake discs), alarm unit located on inside of lock and use of standard AAA batteries.
On the down side we notice a 3.5Lbs weight, mechanical activation versus LED sensors on Xena, lower sensitivity and at 100 Decibels a much less noisy alarm (Xena is 110 Decibels). Depending on personal preference, the last 2 are perceived by many people as a plus.
