They are no more

We have been notified by Tuthill Corp., the maker of Cobralinks locking systems, that production has been halted indefinitely. Therefore, Cobralinks will not be available anymore once our stock has been depleted. We are very sorry to see the 'last true American made' lock company disappear.
We will continue to support replacement keys for Cobralink locks.

Great alternatives can be found in the, even higher quality, German made ABUS Steel-O-Flex cable locks.

Contrary to what most people believe, Cobralinks^® are not the absolute highest level security anymore.
Although still a pretty good security, the continued use of the tubular cylinder and case hardening versus triple heat treating etc., Cobralinks^® come in a few points behind ABUS Magnum chains.
If an armored cable is what you need then Cobralinks^® are great.
If the absolute highest level security is what you need then go for
the ABUS Magnum, Super Magnum or Extreme chains

GREAT ALTERNATIVES

Check out our ABUS 1000/170 cable.
This steel shell protected cable is comparable to the Cobralinks^® though much less in weight.
With only 5lb and a modern ABUS Plus floating plate key-way a very modern, portable and strong solution has arrived.

All Cobralinks^® are fitted with a 7 pin tubular cylinder.
Each link is machined out of solid case hardened carbon steel, covering an aircraft quality inner cable.
In general, the Cobralinks^® are heat treated to .020/.030 case depth with a Rockwell hardness of C 58/62. The inner aircraft quality cable has a tensile strength of around 14,000lbs

Just remember that any flexible cable , if not protected with outer steel shells, no matter what brand or size (if it's flexible then it is soft), can be cut or chiseled through in no time.
